Despite generous donations from BT and the Civil Service Insurance Society Charity Fund, the Fund depends increasingly on the more than 17,000 BT employees and BT pensioners who give through deductions from salary and pension. Without this support our work would be constrained.

As a BT or EE employee, there are two main ways in which you can immediately help the Fund:-

Regular donations

Payroll Giving

More than 10,000 BT people already donate to charity this way, and BT have topped up your charity donations by £1million since 1986. Payroll Giving is open to BT people in the UK, USA and Ireland.

This is the most tax efficient way for employees to give to the Fund. For every pound donated it only costs 80p of net salary and 60p for a higher tax rate payer, so a £10 donation only costs £8 to a 20% tax payer, £6 for a 40% tax payer and £5.50 for a 45% tax payer. BT pays the admin costs of the scheme and the Fund receives a pro-rata percentage of BT’s annual £1m matching. You can also make one-off donations through Payroll Giving.

Round Pound Scheme

BT has introduced a Round Pound scheme which allows BT employees to donate the odd pennies over and above the last whole pound in their monthly pay directly to the BT Benevolent Fund.

By donating just a few pennies each month from your pay it could really help the BT Benevolent Fund make a difference to the lives of colleagues who are in real need.

If you would like to help the BT Benevolent Fund this way, please click here to opt into the Round Pound scheme. It only takes a minute to complete the form.

The maximum you could donate via this scheme is £11.88 per year and in most cases it will be less.

One-off donations

You can give to the Fund quickly and instantly using PayPal which provides a secure, easy-to-use way to give to charity.
