If you are experiencing financial hardship and would like to explore how the Fund may be able to support you, please follow the steps below to get in touch.

Employees

Current BT employees should contact the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) in the first instance on 0800 917 6767.

The EAP is completely confidential. You can call directly on 0800 917 6767, or +44 1865 397076 if calling from outside the UK (for UK and Asia Pacific employees). More information is available on the EAP pages on the BT intranet.

Depending on your circumstances, the EAP may refer you to the Fund for additional support. The Fund is one of several ways BT may be able to help employees facing personal difficulties.

BT employees based outside the UK and Asia Pacific should email benevolent@bt.com to check eligibility.

Please note, we are unable to assist contractors or agency staff.

Former employees

If you have previously worked for BT or GPO Telephones, we may still be able to help, even if you did not build up pension rights due to the length or timing of your employment.

Please contact us using the details provided at the bottom of the page.

BT pensioners

If you receive a BT pension, whether based on your own service or not, the Fund may be able to help. Please have your BT Pension Number ready when you contact us, as this will assist our team. (You can find your pension number on your BTPS payslips, correspondence from the BTPS and on the BTPS portal.)

Please contact us using the details provided at the bottom of the page.

Respect for our case managers

Our case managers are here you to help you and have your best interests at heart. As part of the grant application process they write a report outlining your situation which is presented to a trustee, who will then make a decision on your grant application.

We understand that the questions we ask and the information we request might be sensitive, but this is so we can get an understanding of your situation which will help with the decision-making process.

During this time, please treat our case managers with courtesy and respect. Abuse of our case managers in any form will not be tolerated and may lead to us refusing your grant application or rescinding your grant award.

Please contact us using the details below.
