Despite generous donations from BT and the Civil Service Insurance Society the Fund depends increasingly on the more than 18,000 BT employees and BT pensioners who give through deductions from salary and pension. Without this support our work would be constrained.
There are three main ways in which you can immediately help the Fund:-
More than 10,000 BT people donate to charity this way giving just under £2.3 million in the 2006/07 financial year. BT gave £1 million in matched funding. Give As You Earn is also available to employees in the US and Spain. A regular deduction from your monthly salary under the ‘give-as-you-earn’ scheme of payroll giving. The deduction is made ‘before tax’ so will cost you less than the amount receivable by the Fund which will also benefit from BT’s generous ‘matching offer’.
A gift-aided voluntary deduction will allow the Fund to claim back income tax over and above the amount of your donation. A regular voluntary deduction from your pension but gift-aided so the Fund can claim an additional sum from HMRC.
Single donations to the Fund can be made by a cheque payable to “BT Benevolent Fund” and sent to the Fund Office marked for the attention of the Treasurer.
The Fund’s contact details are:-
Room 323

If you wish such a donation to be ‘gift-aided’ please complete a
declaration and send it with your cheque.
